This error means that something went wrong with the network at your end. Please make sure that you are using a stable internet connection and ideally have a wired internet connection. See below for our recommended optimal network configuration to access Collab Spaces.
The bandwidth used by Collab Spaces (where you are viewing the presentation and are likely seeing the error) will be optimised for the best experience based on the participants’ network. It will automatically adjust for 3G, WiFi or Wired environments.
❌ We do not recommend connecting by 2.4 wifi because of radio noise and Bluetooth interference that can lower your connection quality.
Recommended bandwidth for a session
For 1:1 video calling 500kbps (up & down)
For group video calling: 500kbps/1Mbps (up/down)
For screen sharing only: 50-200kbps (up/down)
For audio VoiP: 50kbps
Recommended bandwidth for single broadcast viewers
For 1:1 video calling 500kbps (down)
For screen sharing only: 50-200kbps (down)
For external streaming source only: 0.5-1.5 Mbps (down)
For audio VoIP: 50kbps (down)
Optimal firewall configuration
The performance of a Collab Space session depends on many factors. Some of these factors can be administratively controlled within the admin user interface, whereas others can be managed within the customer’s corporate network or home computing infrastructure. In this document, we provide optimal network configuration for Collab Space session. Our service optimizes bandwidth usage to lower the amount of data transmitted over the network, helping to reduce network congestion, increase performance and improve your experience.
Collab Spaces can work through all firewalls, however, for the restricted environment we require the following:
Allow for WWW traffic using the Secure HTTP (HTTPS) protocol: Collab Spaces website, administration panel, login page, registration page
Allow for TCP connection (secured with [TLS and stuff]) on ports 443: This connection is used for: conference communication servers, chat transitions etc.
Allow for UDP connection (secured with [TLS]) on port 443, 3478, 5349: This connection is used for multimedia streaming (including audio and video). If for some reason UDP in your network is not available Collab Spaces will transport data over TCP (ports: 443) however this approach is less efficient than using UDP which we recommend.
A whitelist of DNS addresses
For most firewall or proxy systems, we recommend specifying a whitelist of DNS addresses for Collab Space services so outbound connections can be made. The list of Collab Space domains currently includes (but is not limited to) the following:
