Now that you have entered a Collab Space, you would want to enable your camera, microphone. Perhaps you would want to share a screen or show some slides or even use a whiteboard. In this article, we are going to cover the essentials and what you need to know when you are presenting in a Collab Space.
Training & support
As part of your onboarding, your event organiser would organise training and testing sessions with you to make sure you understand then setup, how the session is going to run and address any technical questions and issues in advance. Please make sure that you communicate with your event organiser/host about any additional requirements well in advance.
Your event organiser will be the main contact for any issues that you might run into on the day and addressing technicalities beforehand, as they will have a direct contact with a project manager from iVent and they will have a direct channel to our (iVent) support team on the day.
Broadcasting with webcam or microphone
Once you have entered your Collab Space room as a presenter, you will want to check that your camera and microphone work as intended. Simply click on the Video or Mic icons to go live, if you need to change your microphone or use a different camera just click on the cog wheel and go to Audio & Video Settings.
If you want to make your camera screen look bigger for your viewers, you can do that too. Simply click on the two arrows icon and that will move your camera view onto the main window. To return to your previous view, simply click on the same icons again. This will affect the view for all viewers and presenters so if you have multiple presenters live on camera, that view will change for them too.

Testing your setup
An indicator in the navigation bar indicates your connection with the Collab Space. Think of it like a WiFi signal, the more bars you have, the better the connection.
If you are experiencing any technical issues when you access a Collab Space, make sure to test your connection and setup before you go live.

Using the sharing options
In a Collab Space you are in control of a lot of tools that can enhance your session. Click on the + sign if you want share a screen, present some slides, host a survey or show a YouTube video. All of these options and more are available from that setting. Take a look in your own time, you are free to use any of the options that are available to you.
🔕 Mute sound notifications
When you are going live to present, it's important that you are presenting in a distraction-free environment. This means ensuring that you have muted all of your notifications on your computer, including quitting any other applications you may have open. This may also help with the performance of your computer during the stream so there are less resources taken up by your computer processor.
In Collab Spaces you will also have chat sound notifications enabled by default, so you may want to turn them off when going live so that your audience is not distracted by them.
