Question
What device and setup do I need to have in order to watch a live presentation in iVent?
Answer
You don't actually need much as an attendee. But we have prepared a little checklist of things to tick off to make sure you don't have issues on the day:
✅ Make sure your browser has enabled JavaScript and Pop-Ups.
✅ Always use the latest version of your browser, and we always recommend the latest version of Google Chrome for all devices. With an exception of iOS devices where Safari works best.
✅ Make sure to quit any heavy applications on your device, or apps that you are not using during the live event for best experience.
✅ Make sure that you have allowed both audio and video settings in the top right corner of your browser (if using Google Chrome, this setting may be placed elsewhere if using a different browser).
✅ We do not recommend connecting by 2.4 GHz WiFi because of radio noise and bluetooth interference that can lower your connection quality.
⚠️ If you are accessing the presentation through a corporate network, you may experience issues with connectivity in which case your firewall should have the following configuration:
-
443/TCP (required)
-
10000-20000/UDP + TCP (optional, recommended)
As always, if you run into some technical difficulties please make sure to contact your event organiser.
